Young puppies have an extremely high energy requirement. A low-fat food necessitates a very large ration volume. This can create a higher workload on the digestive system and make it difficult to attain an ideal weight in the puppy. With MAXI Babydog 30, Royal Canin offers puppies from 2 to 5 months a high-energy food in a smaller ration. Proper development of the brain and other vital functions are critical in the very young puppy. Higher levels of EPA and DHA from anchovy oil promote the healthy development of your puppys brain and nervous system, as well as motor skills and sensory perception. Until the age of 3 months, a young puppys digestive system is delicate, and some starches can be difficult to digest. L.I.P (low indigestible proteins) contribute to an extremely digestible product for the sensitive digestive system of your puppy. Additional prebiotics and psyllium may help to promote optimal digestion, with less gas and diarrhea. Between the 4th and 12th week of life, the immune system of the Babydog can be compromised as the initial immunity from mothers milk slowly fades away. Nutrients such as mannan-oligoshaccharides, Vitamins & C, taurine and lutein may stimulate the production of antibodies and build the immune system of the very young puppy. MAXI Babydog 30 kibbles are specifically designed to fit the tiny jaws and teeth of your young puppy, with a special shape, size and texture for easier grasping and chewing. Available in 26 lbs.

Do Not Give Your Dog These Foods

!±8± Do Not Give Your Dog These Foods

It might be considered ideal to completely separate food for dogs and food for people.

However there is something appealing about the dog sharing your table scraps and preventing left over food from being wasted. When you do this, be very careful that certain foods are not given to the dog, as they can cause them to be ill.

When your own food is simple and easily separated, then it can be quite safe and sensible to allow them to finish up what you have left.

There is unlikely to be a problem with meat - except pork - but do not give them any animal bones. The dog may also enjoy some vegetables, especially when there is meat gravy as well, without any ill effect.

Mushrooms should be avoided at all costs; they can make the dog very ill.

Sauces which contain onions and garlic are another no-no, as are some fruits, such as grapes and raisins. While the dog's diet can be brightened up with some of the table scraps, we need to be careful, as a simple mistake here could have serious consequences.

When going for sweet treats, it is best to stick to those which have been specially made for pet dogs.

Chocolate for humans can be particularly dangerous and milk is not at all good for them. Keep a close eye on what you feed the dog, but also make sure they can not get access to the foods which can harm them - in the trash for instance.

Having a well nourished and well trained dog is an enormous pleasure - look after them and they will love you for it.
